Margaret Dashwood Shawl knitalong starts on Valentine's Day!

Cast-on day is February 14, and we will knit along together for 28 days. We will end on Daylight Savings Day. Who wants to knit with me while we watch the days lengthen? I love watching the sun set a few minutes later each day as we wait for spring!

The pattern is available for automatic download via my Etsy shop.

It is also available in the Jane Austen Knits summer 2012 magazine as well as the book,
The Best Of Jane Austen Knits.

What you need:
Either: 2 skeins or Brooklyn Tweed Loft (11” by 70” finished shawl size)
Or: 4 skeins of Brooklyn Tweed Shelter (15” by 80” finished shawl size)

Using the simplest techniques for lace and shaping, this is an ideal first shawl for a beginning or intermediate knitter.
Skills needed:
Knit
Purl
Slip
Knit 2 together
Yarn over
Knit front and back

I have written a series of prompts for anyone who wants to join us in sharing photos and posts on social media! See the image below for suggestions for prompts for our knitalong. Follow me on instagram @ joannajohnson to see our progress and to share photos of your project!

Announcing Emma Knits!

We are overjoyed to announce a new pattern collection, Emma Knits!
This project was designed in collaboration with Malabrigo Yarn Company and each of the six patterns features a different Malabrigo Yarn. This collection is available as an instant download eBook in our Etsy shop here.

You can read more about Joanna's design process for this collection over here on the Malabrigo website. Each pattern is inspired by the Jane Austen book, Emma, and is a modern interpretaion of traditional Regency-era fashions. Above you see Secret Engagement, a cropped long-sleeve jacket, and below, Village Ball, a cross-body shawl wrap.

We hope you enjoy this new collection!
